Amec – the Association of Capital Market Investors – held an event in partnership with ICGN – International Corporate Governance Network, in Miami, on October 15 and 16. During the conference, Amec’s delegation led meaningful discussions that permeate the Stewardship Code. “The sustainability issue is gaining momentum in the USA and asset managers are already offering products with the ESG Compliant seal, with structured processes and dedicated teams. The global scenario is more advanced than the Brazilian one,” explains Fábio Coelho, the association’s CEO.
The relevance of stewardship codes and how this trend have been promoting important guidance about the best corporate governance practices were two of the topics discussed during the “Governance in Latin America” panel. The session also addressed the phenomenon of IPOs of tech companies outside the region and the debate about multiple classes of shares as a possible trend among these companies.

The event made it possible for the participants of the Brazilian capital markets to have access to the most advanced discussions about corporate governance around the world.
